MUMBAI RAINSThe monsoon started very late in Mumbai. Even though I love rains, but I don’t like rains in Mumbai. As we need water throughout the year, I wait for the rains here. It has become every year story that Mumbai gets badly flooded during the monsoons. I have faced the worst 2yrs back when it was 26/7 the worst rains the city faced.
I know for sure this problem of flooding is going to increase each year, as there is no development for avoiding these disasters. I can state an example, the flat where I live now, it was surrounded by a huge area of mangroves, this year they have been filled by sand and the result I could see in the rains which hit the city, there was flooding in front of my house. I do not understand why man is after the living of the other man. Nobody wants to come forward and improve the situation; everyone is busy filling their pockets.
I hate the monsoons in Mumbai; the city becomes more dirty and stinky. There is flooding and you just don’t feel like enjoying the monsoons and venturing anywhere, as you never know if you could come back home the same day.
Mumbai is growing left, right and centre, but the improvement for the city is diminishing left, right and centre. Wake up guys and everyone must contribute somehow to improve the situation or else very soon, we could get drowned in our sleep.
